How to report a correction

  1. The page address. Copy the full URL from the browser address bar.
  2. The figure or text. Quote the exact number or sentence that you think is wrong.
  3. The official source. Name the DFAS, DoD, DTMO, Federal Register, or U.S. Code page you compared it with, and the date you checked it.

Reported errors are reviewed against the source before any change is made. See the editorial policy for how figures are checked.

What counts as a correction

  • A pay figure that does not match the official table or the order it cites.
  • A sentence that states a rule differently from the official source, such as an allowance rule or a pay-date rule.
  • A calculator result that does not match the rule the calculator says it uses.
  • A broken link, or a link to a source that has been replaced.

A question about how something works, or a request for a new page, is also welcome. Include the page address so we know which page you mean.

Before you write

Check three things on the page you are reporting. Most apparent errors are one of these:

  1. The year. The 2025 and 2026 charts are separate schedules. A figure from one year does not apply to the other.
  2. The grade and years of service. Check that you read the right row and column. Thehow to read a pay chart guide shows how.
  3. The checked date. Pay pages show the date their source was last checked. If the official source has changed since then, that is useful to know.

What not to send

  • Your Social Security number, or any document that shows it, including a copy of a Leave and Earnings Statement (LES).
  • Your myPay username, password, or any other sign-in details.
  • Your bank, account, or personal pay records.

We cannot look up your pay, and we do not need personal details to correct a published figure. Send the page address, the text, and the source instead.

What happens after you write

We review the report against the official source before changing anything. If the source confirms it, the page is corrected. If it does not, the page stays as it is. How DFAS and DoD table changes are handled is described on thepay data updates page.

The sources list shows every official source the site uses, so you can check the figure yourself while you wait for a reply.

Questions about your own pay

This site explains published pay tables. It cannot look up your pay record or decide your entitlements. For those, contact your servicing finance office or DFAS.
